Fixin' Things Up!

This post should probably go under current and future projects, except they are now "past" projects. Our maintenance and grounds crew have been working real hard to clean up after such a long winter!

John fixed our front entry door so it doesn't slam shut every time someone goes in or out of it!
Ty attempts to fix part of the fence that was damaged during the winter!
Jeff works on the landscaping on the corner...giving it a minor face lift. They cleaned up all the old bark, laid new black tarps, and then laid new bark. Looks great guys! Thanks for all your hard work!

Is that Green?

Isn't this just a BEAUTIFUL sight! That little bit of green sprouting out of the earth means that spring is almost here, despite all the snow and cold weather we've had through April and May. Before you know it, we'll be seeing green every direction we look! For now, enjoy all the green buds popping out!

Celebrating Magaret's Birthday!

Margaret is Triton Investments Director of Student Housing. We took a break on May 6th to celebrate her birthday...unfortunately, she couldn't make it to her own birthday party! We partied anyway!

From all of us at Jordan Ridge....Happy Birthday Margaret!

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

They say April showers bring May flowers...right? Well, we'll just see about that, because it seems awfully cold out to even think about planting flowers.
Berb enjoys a good storm. He got down out of the flower pot to play in the hail while flashes of lightning and thunder filled the sky above.
In just a matter of minutes, the ground was covered in white and it wasn't snow...it was hail!
Our Assistant Manager, Elise, discovered that catching hail with her tongue isn't as enjoyable as catching snowflakes or rain drops falling from the sky!
Unfortunately,  the storm wasn't only packed with thunder, lightning, and hail. Eventually, we got snow as well. Snow in May is a common thing here in Rexburg. Even if it is just a small layer, this proves that Rexburg is cold long into the spring time!
Does it look like Spring to you? All we can say is, "Welcome to Rexburg for the Spring semester!"

A Tribute to Rick and Derrick!

We recently lost two of the best employees ever: Rick Robinson and Derrick White. These two MA's served with us faithfully for over two years! The two of them have moved on to bigger and better things, but we wanted to publicly thank them for all of their hard work and contributions they made to our team! They will SURELY be missed. Most all, we wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors!

BERB...

Meet BERB! We have NO idea where BERB came from, but he showed up in our front entrance flower pot during Winter 2011 check-outs with the given name of BERB. He is just too cute to dispose of, so we have left him in the flower pot. If it ever warms up in Rexburg, we'll plant some flowers around BERB and just leave him be. He is a friendly frog, that is for sure! He welcomes all of our guests and residents with a smile. Be sure to pet BERB every time you pass, because I am afraid he is here to stay!

April Check-Outs and Check-Ins!

April is always one of the busiest months of the year here in the office. We thank all of our Winter 2011 residents for such a fun semester. It may have been a cold one,  but it was sure a fun one! White glove seemed to be a huge success as well. Thanks to all of our residents who cleaned. It ALWAYS makes our job much easier.

Only 5 days after check-outs, we welcomed our Spring 2011 residents! We are so excited for this semester. The Spring is always a fun semester at the Ridge. We will be hosting our Annual BBQ this semester as well as many small facebook competitions and surprises. We will still offer our Famous Finals Week Breakfast at the end of the semester. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Spring 2011 semester at Jordan Ridge.

Resident Productions!

We really wanted to share this video with all our followers. A few current residents of Jordan Ridge were featured in this video, a couple of which were directly involved with the creation of the video. When we come across resident productions, we like to share them. We are so proud of all our residents and the good things they are producing. Way to go, guys!

Welcome to our team, ELISE!

We are so excited to welcome a new addition to our team! Elise Thompson has been hired as the new Assistant Manager for Jordan Ridge apartments. She has been married for 3 years and has one adorable 10 month old baby boy. She has an extensive background of management experience. We know she will bring many great and new ideas for Jordan Ridge. She will begin working for us on March 21st...just in time for a crash course on check-outs and check-ins! We like her and we KNOW you will too! Welcome to our team, ELISE!

MOVING ON TO BIGGER AND BETTER!

We recently saw pictures of a few current and past residents that are or have moved on to bigger and better things! Specifically, MARRIAGE! We are so proud of all our residents. It brings us great joy as we witness our former, current, or future residents experience such great things that are taking place in their lives. We might lose one or two along the way, but this proves that amidst the hard times, there is much more "good" taking place at the same time. We must never lose sight of what is most important: faith, love, education, happiness, and success!  We always wish the best for all our residents as they spread their wings and venture out to "bigger and better" things.

Resident Talent!

We came across some resident talent by Zach Kerr on our facebook page and thought we would share it with you!  It is always great to see our residents going out and sharing their talents!

SUPER BOWL CONTEST!

We are introducing our FIRST EVER “Jordan Ridge Super Bowl BLOCK Contest”!!! We will come around later this week with a bowl of numbers from 1-100. Every apartment will draw two numbers. These two numbers will be your squares on the “Score Block” (see attached scoring block). Before the game, we will fill in the scoring blocks for each of the four quarters. Whichever apartment is in the winning square matching the score at the end of each quarter will win a Pizza Hut pizza party delivered right to your door! This means we will have four winners! Hopefully we’ll be knocking at your door. You must be HOME to win!

Winter Wonderland!

Winter is back here in Rexburg!  Nothing like waking up to -20 degrees in the morning, having a few inches of snow on your car, and wearing 6 layers of clothes to walk to class!  Winter is a GREAT time to be up here in Rexburg.  There are plenty of fun things to do (believe it or not!), it just might take a little bit more creativity than the summer months!

Here are some fun things to do here in the winter:

-Snowboarding/Skiing.  We have 2 GREAT resorts very close to Rexburg.  Kelly Canyon isn't too far away and Targhee is just right outside the Idaho border, about 45 minutes away from here.

-Sledding.  There are plenty of hills to sled down.  One of the best ones is located near the ice skating rink on the upper fields.

-Build a snowman

-Build an igloo

-Have a snowball fight.  BE AWARE--According to Rexburg law, you cannot engage in a snowball fight unless everyone is aware that snowballs are going to start flying!  So make sure that everyone is ok with getting hit by a snowball before you throw it at them!

-Ice skating on the upper fields.  The school has set up an ice skating rink for the winter time.

-DATE!

There are plenty of things to do, and that is just a sample of some things you can do!  Like we mentioned, you just have to be a little more creative.  Don't let the cold weather bring you down or keep you inside!  There are plenty of things to do!

We hope everyone has a GREAT semester and let us know if there is anything we can do!
